Southern California Fires and the technology victims are using

Posted by admin on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

After reading a post on Rain City Guide, I started seeing more and more interesting tidbits about how people are sharing information about the fires in Southern California.

Twitter appears to be one of the more popular methods, letting people tell what’s going on in specific areas quickly with easy mass distribution. As humorous as can be possible in this situation are people calling to see if their answering machines are picking up. If they’re melted, they aren’t picking up. For those of us with service provider voicemail, we’d be out of luck.

My thoughts go out to all of you who are affected during this great disaster. Best of luck to all of you.
