Virgin Vacations has put together their top 11 Most Bike Friendly Cities in the World and Portland came out second. This is great for our beautiful city! I’m a bike rider myself, but unfortunately due to the nature of my job, I have to drive all over the city. I see some great areas, but the one part that I find difficult is the inability to safely get from one area (downtown) to another (Clackamas, Gresham, Hillsboro, etc.). All of the individual areas do well for bike-friendliness, but getting between them isn’t always so easy. But worst case scenario, you can always pull your bike onto the MAX to get to the next suburb.
