Why Realtor.com "officially" supporting the iPhone doesn't matter as much as it sounds

by Nick Bostic on November 13, 2007

It was announced that Realtor.com officially supports the iPhone now. I’ve already had a few people ask me if they can get one now. What this announcement really means is that Realtor.com finally decided to acknowledge the 5.05% of consumers who use Safari. While this is a good thing, it should have been done several years ago. Another situation of Realtor.com playing the “me-too” game.

They also announced the “Find a Neighborhood” search tool. Sounds an awful lot like Cyberhomes/Zillow/Trulia to me. Wow, two “me-too”’s in one announcement!

It is progress though and if I were a Realtor, I’d be happy my dues are being used for excellent, necessary upgrades, regardless of if they should have already been in place.
