Looks like there’s going to be a whole new slew of smartphones coming from AT&T before the end of the year. The couple of people I know using the G1 on T-Mobile are in love, so I’m looking forward to seeing one with the coverage area I need.
I tell everyone I work with to get up and running with their blogs that they should use Windows Live Writer (if they have a Windows machine). It’s super-easy to use and doesn’t spit out terrible code. Now you can take it with you easily!
As cool as this service is, I am very annoyed! A friend of mine turned me on to this about a week ago and it was free. Now I’m back to paying for something I consider to be a great tool, but not mission-critical.
This goes back to my long-standing philosophy: do what is right for the consumers utilizing these tools and you’ll be fine. People who keyword stuff their web sites and abuse tools like Digg and StumbleUpon will see short-term gains, but will have to keep fighting harder and harder to stay on top.
The really unfortunate part about cell phone product launch delays is that the real reasons are rarely brought out. I have used cell phones with no carrier software and they run significantly more smoothly than their carrier-loaded counterparts. To many, this may look like a delay from RIM, but my guess is it’s due to the crapware Verizon wants loaded on it.
