The Downside to Corporate Life
I have returned to corporate life and overall, it’s been great. I’m still hoping my direct deposit is setup directly because I’m so bad about taking my check to the bank. There is one deep dark underbelly of the corporate world, however, that I know will always exist, but I don’t have to enjoy it.
Politics
I’m not speaking of Republicans vs. Democrats, I’m talking about career politics. Infighting, backbiting…it isn’t fun, at least not for me. Sure, there may be some people I don’t like, there may be some people who I question why they work here, but that’s not up to me, it’s up to their superior. If they are doing a good job in the eyes of their management, who am I to question/worry/blame? Plus, how could anyone question someone else’s skills/abilities/worth without having worked their job?
My pledge to any future and all past coworkers: I will never do anything to undermine your ability to reach your goals in an effort to attain mine. I believe in karma and I really can’t afford to having it come back to me in a negative way.
