Everybody is all a-Twitter. I’m on Twitter. I average about 10 new followers a day lately even though my update volume has decreased quite a bit. My personal problem is that I follow too many people for me to keep up with.
A trend I notice is that many of the most active people on Twitter are real estate professionals (self-employed, slow market) or online marketers (webmasters, graphic designers, “social media experts”, etc – also self-employed). The conclusion I draw from this is that people with full-time jobs working for The Man don’t have as much time to spend on Twitter as self-employed people do. Does this mean it’s an ineffective tool? Hardly! It just may mean that your traditional business may want to consider hiring a person to manage Twitter (and Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, etc) instead of just having one of their existing employees taking care of things. Just something to think about.
And now, enjoy this video highlighting the wonder that is Twitter.
