Fuzzy Math Friday: Possible Proof that Money DOES Equal Happiness
I was never that good at mathematical proofs, so I am sharing this to get your opinions. Please, tell me where my math goes wrong.
Time Equals Money

It seems to be a valid assumption that time equals money. We hear “Time is money” all the time, I have placed a direct value on here for my hourly rate for small business marketing consulting, I know what I make per hour at my day job. Now, money isn’t the only consideration, but it is frequently the first thing many people revert back to. You want me to work an extra hour per day, I can tell you how much more per year that’s going to cost you. But there’s still more to this equation…
Time ALSO Equals Happiness

I value my time VERY heavily. I hope you do too. If you know someone is going to take far more time than your average customer, there should be a cut off point where no money is worth continuing to work with that person. You can’t enjoy your money if you have no time to do it. So for me, and many I know, time equals happiness – the time to spend doing what you want to be doing.

So here’s where I’m pulling from my old mathematical proofs. If Time Equals Money (Time = $$$) and Time ALSO Equals Happiness (Time = 
), then doesn’t Money Equal Happiness ($$$ = )? Kind of like A=B, B=C so A=C?
Like I said before, at some point no money in the world is worth your loss of time. I also firmly believe that just getting paid more doesn’t mean you’ll enjoy your job any more. That’s personally why I fought more for additional vacation time than a higher salary and also why I have no problem turning down a customer if their marketing consulting project doesn’t intrigue me.
So what do you think? The mathematical proof starts to indicate that money does equal happiness, but my core logic doesn’t agree, so what’s your take?
