Sure, I’m a day early on the whole Cinco De Mayo thing, but we have schedules to keep in the Social Media world! Yes, this really is a job complete with deadlines!
Margaritas!
What would Cinco de Mayo be without a margarita? Here is a cool and refreshing Social Media tips that go down easy:
- Andre Nilsen presents How To Generate Huge Traffic With Google Blogs.
- This is a super-simple tip that really makes a good point that is often overlooked with Social Media: GO BE SOCIAL!
Guacamole: The Green Gold
Guacamole is my favorite part of any Cinco de Mayo, so enjoy my favorite submissions to this weeks Social Media Carnival:
- Mike Mueller presents Are you building a wall?
- Mike makes excellent points regarding the importance of allowing (potential) customer interaction, providing value and staying true to your business. Although he targets the real estate industry (in statement only really, not in content), his points apply to most small businesses.
- Anna Farmery presents Brands and the social media conversation.
- Anna discusses the concept of brands being part of the social media conversation. I think she makes excellent points that the brand should be present, but have individuals out there being the advocates. I see a prime example in Comcast, who we all know about, but they have individuals driving their Twitter accounts and very successfully.
Now For Your Main Course: Fajitas!
For people who really can’t decide what they want to eat, fajitas give you a bit of everything and always satisfy. Here are two posts that will definitely fill you up:
- Dustin Luther presents Are there 5 reasons you do NOT want to create a Facebook Business Page?
- This one hit home HARD for me this last week since I received close to 40 Facebook page fan suggestions. I’m sorry people, I like you as a person, but do you REALLY need a Facebook page when you’re syndicating the same content on your Profile, Page, Twitter and LinkedIn? Take a good read through what Dustin has to say before launching yours.
- Sarah Scrafford presents 100 Tips and Tools to Research the Social Web.
- I wouldn’t normally place a giant link list into the mix here, but this is VERY comprehensive. There were even a couple here I hadn’t read yet. Make sure you set aside some time here, there’s a lot of great content.
Hope You Saved Room For Dessert!
Thanks for sticking with this Social Media Carnival so far, only one submission to go! Tomorrow, be sure to raise a virtual cerveza, margarita or shot of your favorite tequila with me.
- Silicon Valley Blogger presents Make Money Blogging: Top Bloggers And How Much They Earn.
- Again, this is one I wouldn’t normally include, but I want to for all of the small businesses out there who get setup on blogging and social media and wonder why they aren’t seeing billions of dollars in additional revenue by the end of the first month. If you look at the lowest traffic site on here, we’re talking 250,000 unique visitors per month. So keep in mind, it’s another tool for your business, but in many cases won’t BE your business.
Be sure to submit your article for next weeks Carnival hosted over at Launchpad Coworking!
